Gonçalo Campos, born in 1986, is a Portuguese product designer. Soon after graduating in Product Design in 2008, he joined the design studio in Fabrica, Benetton’s communications research centre. This gave him the chance to work with trademarks such as SecondoMe, Seletti, Zanotta, Munna or Wewood. In 2009, he worked in Sam Baron‘s studio. He is currently developing a series of objects which continue to explore the possibilities of design projects about function and material, in an inside out process that is not without humour, curiosity and an intuitive intelligence.
Campos prides on finding simple solutions, through the sound use of materials and production methods, in a process that starts from the inside of the object outwards. This results in recognizably “smart” objects, often with a certain humour, the reflection of a relaxed way of thinking and curious attitude.
